Solvent Recycling Contribution to Resource Efficiency

24th September Freising (close to Munich)

Polysolve is a EU funded project for the development of a selective green solvent based recovery process for waste expanded polystyrene and polycarbonate. The idea to meet this need is the development of green selective solvents to allow expanded polystyrene and polycarbonate to be recycled more effectively and offer a product with similar properties to that of virgin material to converters. This Workshop will cover the state of the art in solvent based recycling, the results of Polysolve and needed developments for future market development.

The Workshop will take place from 10:00 to 16:00hrs at the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Freising. It will include a visit of the Institute. There will be as well two separate working groups: EPS and PC.

The workshop is free of charge.

The partners of the project are:

  • European Plastics Recyclers (EuPR)
  • European Plastics Converters (EuPC)
  • British Plastics Federation (BPF)
