Footfall Increases by over 70% at Plastics Recycling Show Europe

Larger PRS Europe returns to RAI Amsterdam in 2019

In its second year, the annual Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) exhibition and conference held recently in Amsterdam, The Netherlands attracted many more visitors, exhibitors and speakers from across Europe and beyond. PRS Europe 2018 featured over 100 exhibiting companies, heard more than 40 conference speakers giving informative and inspirational presentations and had a total footfall of more than 2,400 over two days, an increase of more than 1,000 compared to the launch event in 2017.

Exhibitors and visitors attending the show represented the whole value chain of the plastics industry including among others: recyclers, machine producers, raw material producers, converters, waste management companies and brand owners. PRSE, organised by Crain Communications and Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE), will return to a larger hall at the RAI Amsterdam on 10 and 11 April 2019.

Ton Emans, president of PRE said: “With the success of this show we are sending an important message: the market of recycled plastics in Europe is advancing not only in terms of recycling rates but also technology-wise.  The new European legislation and the continuous dialogue of the plastic value chain should further help strengthening and harmonising of our industry. The launch of Plastics Recycling Awards Europe, with a number of finalists and unquestionable winners, is a testimony for the quality of recyclates and an array of applications in which they are used.”

Mike Baxter, external affairs director for exhibitor RPC bpi Group said: “This is probably the most important show for the European recycling industry on the annual calendar. Compared to all other shows in Europe, this show, in terms of visitor numbers and quality, stands up above all the others.”

“PRSE has been a great platform for the plastics recycling industry, for everyone interested in plastics recycling in Europe. It’s a fantastic show for us,” said Jérémie Garbe, Sales Director of exhibitor Pellenc ST. “If you are interested in plastics recycling in Europe and the world, you should certainly visit PRSE next year.”

“To be here is a great opportunity for learning what are the new technologies that are in place for recycling,’ said Carlo Pettinelli, Director for Consumer, Environmental and Health Technologies, European Commission.

“A platform like this, the size it is, can be the perfect collaboration space,” added Cyril Gutsch founder of Parley for the Oceans.

“We have built so well on the successful launch of PRSE in 2017 to develop the conference and exhibition into the business and networking event for plastics recycling in Europe,” said Matt Barber, PRSE Event Director at Crain Communications. “I would like to thank all our speakers, exhibitors and visitors for all that they have contributed to our success and look forward to meeting many more when we return to a new, larger hall at the RAI, Amsterdam in April 2019.”

More information on the next PRS Europe event in 2019 will be released later this year. To view the YouTube video review of PRS Europe 2018 visit: https://youtu.be/pAVcktItEpw
